Resource Check
Recognize the abilities, people, resources, and supports already available to you. Resource Check helps you stop approaching every challenge as though you have to solve it entirely on your own.
Once this week…
- Choose one thing you’re trying to do, change, or handle.
- Before asking “What do I need?”, ask: “What do I already have?”
- Look in four places: your strengths, people who could help, resources you can access, and supports that make things easier.
- Ask: What am I trying to do the hard way that one of these could make easier?
- Choose one thing you identified and use it this week.
Why it matters
Being capable doesn’t mean doing everything alone. We often overlook what we already have—or avoid using support because we think we should be able to manage without it. Good problem-solving includes knowing what you can draw on.
Remember
You don’t have to prove you can do it the hard way.
